Set along the Allegheny River in Armstrong County, Kittanning Riverfront Park exists as the kickoff project of an economic revitalization strategy for the Borough of Kittanning. The park was designed by LBA Landscape Architecture to be a linear strip of riverfront land bisected by the Kittanning Bridge, which creates the north and south parks, each fully accessible to the general public.
The South Park contains an improved boat launch, a 1,000-seat amphitheater, and a stage, as well as newly designed pavilions and restrooms intended to emulate historic park structures. The North Park contains walking paths, a relocated gazebo, and a memorial garden that contains local historic war monuments. Furthermore, the North Park is used for an annual folk festival that draws thousands of visitors to the park.
